How DPC Membership Compares to Traditional Care
When you add up what families actually pay, DPC often costs less than you'd expect.
What Families Typically Pay With Insurance
- Sick visit copay $25-50
- Urgent care visit $75-150
- ER visit copay $150-500+
- Quarterly ADHD visit $600
- Annual out-of-pocket $1,100-1,650+
What You Pay With New Way Pediatrics
- Membership, 1 child ($150/mo × 12) $1,800/yr
- Or pay annually — one month free $1,650/yr
- Unlimited Sick Visits $0
- Quarterly ADHD visit $0
- Unlimited texts directly with pediatrician $0
- Hidden Fees $0
For families who value time, convenience, and direct physician access, DPC often provides better value than traditional insurance-based care.
Questions About Membership?
Answers to what families ask most about pricing and value.
Do you have an office I can visit?
Yes. Our office is at 2075 NW Grant Ave, Corvallis, OR 97330 and every visit is by appointment. This can be helpful for patients who live outside of our 15-mile home visit radius.
What if I live outside the 15-mile radius?
Call us at (541) 224-7995 to check availability and pricing for your area, or schedule an appointment to be seen at our Corvallis office at 2075 NW Grant Ave, Corvallis, OR 97330.
Do I still need health insurance if I join?
Yes. DPC is not insurance. We recommend insurance for emergencies, specialists, hospital care, and prescriptions. Many families pair DPC with a high-deductible plan.
Can I cancel my membership anytime?
Yes. We ask for 30 days' notice, but there are no long-term contracts or cancellation penalties.
Is there a family discount for multiple children?
Yes. 1 child is $150/month, 2 children is $300/month, 3 children is $350/month. Membership is capped at $400/month, so a family with four or more children pays $400 no matter how many children they have. Choosing annual billing costs 11 months instead of 12, so you get one month free: $1,650 for one, $3,300 for two, $3,850 for three, $4,400 for four or more.
What if I only have one child?
One child is $150/month, or $1,650 if you pay for the year up front — annual billing is 11 months instead of 12, so you get one month free. Either way there's a one-time $50 registration fee per child, charged once at enrollment.
Are vaccines included?
Dr Rivers has several community partnerships that allow you to use insurance for your vaccines. Dr. Rivers administers them in your home and provides full counseling on the immunization schedule. If you do not have insurance, or her partners do not take your insurance, she will order vaccines for you to get at the health department for free.
What about my health insurance deductible?
DPC membership doesn't apply to your insurance deductible since we don't bill insurance. However, many families find DPC saves money overall by reducing urgent care visits and providing faster care.
Do you accept HSA?
Yes! DPC membership is an eligible expense for Health Savings Accounts.
Does membership work with a health share?
It works especially well. Health shares are member-funded programs where participants share one another's eligible medical costs. Most are built for large, unexpected expenses and share little or nothing toward routine primary care — so families in a health share are often paying out of pocket for every well visit, sick visit, and phone call anyway. Membership replaces that unpredictable spending with one flat monthly fee, and pairs with the health share for hospital stays, specialists, and emergencies.
Can I use a health share instead of insurance?
That's a decision to make with your family and your health share. Health shares are not insurance: they are not regulated as insurance in Oregon, they do not guarantee that any expense will be paid, many require agreement with a statement of faith, and most have waiting periods for pre-existing conditions. What we can tell you is that whichever route you choose — traditional insurance, a high-deductible plan, or a health share — your child's day-to-day primary care is fully covered by your membership here. Dr. Rivers is happy to talk through how membership fits your situation at your meet-and-greet.
